Dear Mr. Person
I am so excited you’re reading this! My YA Fantasy “The Substitute” is being offered to you to consider.
Clara just moved to town and is positively excited to attend her new school. She meets lots of interesting teenagers, but the most mysterious person there is the substitute for her English teacher, Mr. Carte. When asked, no one else has seen him teach there before. She cannot seem to figure him out and it bothers her night and day.
After a few weeks Mr. Carte asks Clara to run an errand for him after class: grab a certain book from the library. She complies and soon finds herself in a strange world full of puzzles, fairies, not-so-nice gnomes, and much more that her eyes just cannot believe! Who knew that libraries did in fact have secret tunnels to new places?
Now she is determined to return home, but not before discovering something about herself and the teacher she’s so obsessed with.
I do believe readers who loved the Harry Potter, Narnia, and Percy Jackson series’ would not miss “The Substitute.”
I am a Rowan University graduate with a Writing Arts degree. I enjoy editing books as well as reading whatever I can get my hands on seeing as I run two book clubs.
Thank you for your consideration,
